The Speech and Signal Processing lab is a research group focused on the areas of signal processing, speech analysis, and natural language understanding. Our research projects include the areas of:

  • Automatic Speech recognition
  • Applications of speech technology to bioacoustics
  • Speech recognition using dynamical systems models
  • Formant tracking and speech enhancement
  • Microphone arrays for enhancement and recognition

The speech lab is affiliated with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Marquette University, and is a part of the Center for Intelligent Systems, Controls, and Signal Processing. We are also involved with collaborative projects with the Knowledge in Information and Discovery (KID) Lab, the Advanced Computing Technology (ACT) Lab, and the Intelligent Systems and Controls Lab.
